Just a "Little" Drive Down I-40

At 0700 hours on December 26th, Shawna, Kelly, Jimmy and I will embark on a road trip to Phoenix, Arizona. Beginning in Raleigh, North Carolina, this trip will take us almost across the country. True it seems anti-climatic to go almost across the country, but for four passionate architecture students, it is the journey that we seek, as this journey will take us to some of the world's most beloved architectural landmarks by architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Louis Khan and Tadao Ando. Architecture is meant to be experienced and we will drive 72 hours and 5000 miles over the course of 11 days to experience it and the landscape that holds it.

We are fortune enough to have generous sponsors, including North Carolina State University's College of Design and School of Architecture, AIA Triangle, the Freelon Group, O'Brien/Atkins Associates, Clearscapes, Tonic Design, Brian Shawcroft, Perkins + Will and Triangle Modernist Houses. We would like to thank them again for their support.

Over the last few weeks, we have mapped out our trip, carefully selected our stops, booked hotel rooms and researched BBQ joints, now all we have to do is wait (oh and do that Christmas thing with our families). I hope you check back to view our pictures, videos and sketches, as well as read our posts.
